Memories Over the Teacups

Since my dear sister was out of town for her birthday, a belated celebration was in order -- and a recently discovered tea room in our little town was the perfect setting.

All three of us were wearing almost identical shades of pink; apparently, even though we no longer live in the same house, we still have the mental connection that frequently leads us to dress alike!

Before, having never visited this tea room, I was skeptical. I've seen many a tea room severely lacking in charm, atmosphere, and tasty comestibles. Now, having visited, I will most certainly return!

Our little trio of ladies has made quite a few memories together over the teacups, in many places and in many stages of life -- starting (for me) with dim memories of the tea rooms we frequented in England when I was small; tea rooms that had Old Country Roses and plenty of sugar cubes. And this most recent gathering is one more such memory to carefully tuck away among those fond recollections.

Because it's not just about the tea, you know.

What greater thing is there for human souls than to feel that they are joined for life - to be with each other in silent unspeakable memories.

  4. Your comments about the connection of mother and sisters rings so true in my mind! Having no brothers and all sisters certainly adds a different dynamic to a household!
