Have a Seat
Here are just ten easy steps to inexpensive (and comfortable) seating.
Step 1
Send your mother out to yard sales until she finds a nice sofa in good condition for a great price.
Step 2
Return to yard sale with your mother and your fiance.
Step 3
Let your fiance haggle the owners down to a lower price.
Step 4
Send the sofa home in the back of your fiance's truck. Let your mother drive so you can glance in the rearview mirror approximately every five seconds to see if it has fallen out yet.
Step 5
Vacuum the sofa to remove debris, with the assistance of your fiance.
Step 6
Keep vacuuming the sofa.
Step 7
Keep vacuuming the sofa -- especially the cushions that you have identified as an unknown dog's favorite spot on the sofa.
Step 8
Keep vacuuming! What kind of dog was that, anyway?
Step 9
Replace all the cushions on the sofa.
Step 10
Relax. Ignore the strange looks from the neighbors as you have your picture taken on a sofa in the middle of your yard.

It's great to get cheap or free furniture - sofas are strange - really expensive when bought new, but they seem to lose their value really quickly, which is rather handy! It looks very comfy!
ReplyDeleteGosh that's a nice sofa - and I'm very glad you got it at a great price too!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I can't give you any tips of the quick removal of dog hair - apart from that Dyson hoover attachments with the spinny brush in them do a rather good job.
It looks like a lovely couch! I think it would have been rather satisfactory to get it all cleaned up, and then very satisfactory to get in it's place!
ReplyDeleteHave a very bright, very cheerful day!

Irene, I must admit that these pictures were taken a little over a month ago -- but even as lately as a week ago it was unbelievably hot and humid here. We're finally to sweater weather in Florida! *cheering*
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your sweet comments! It's certainly very satisfactory to find something nice for a great price! And fortunately, the couch didn't smell like dog, despite all the hair! ;-)
Blessings,
Shannon

I love that couch! Enjoy picking out things for your new home together.
ReplyDeleteI think it must be the same kind of dog that lived in this house before us. Hair--e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e.
