For the first few years we lived in this house, I had no idea that we had lilies. Entirely overtaken by lace hydrangeas and a tulip tree, they never bloomed -- or at least, I never could see them through the mass of foliage!
But after taking out the ill-placed hydrangeas (*sniff*), we had a little surprise this Spring:
The photo below is entirely untouched -- that surreal yellow in the center is just as striking in "real life." And I love the peachy color of the lilies; it's more delicate and less showy than a bright orange lily.
What a lovely tribute to the beauty of our Creator!
Shannon,
ReplyDeleteYour lilies are beautiful! I have never seen a lily that color before. We have orange and pink at our home, but it will be a while before they bloom. : )

Sarah,
DeleteI guess down here we get our yearly "show" a bit early! :-) I was surprised by the color, too -- it's even lovelier in person.
Blessings,
Shannon
Those lilies are so pretty. Seeing previously unknown plants come up is a fun surprise!
ReplyDeleteMrs. H,
DeleteWe've had *many* surprises left behind by the former homeowners -- if only all of them were this nice! ;-)
Blessings,
Shannon
How beautiful!! We just moved and our new yard had magnolias, Japanese maples, hydrangeas, azealas, mimosas, honeysuckle, jasmine and day lilies!!! I have been loving the beauty!!! It was an unexpected and kind gift from God to have such beauty in our yard.
ReplyDeleteHannah,
DeleteHow lovely! What a blessing that you have so much beauty in your own yard! And congrats on the new home, by the way -- I love the area you settled in (info via Pablo's mom :-).
Blessings,
Shannon
Thanks so much! We are loving the new home and area :)
DeleteBeautiful lily, and photograph. We have wild orange Tiger lilies that bloom here in Alabama. They can get quite tall. Your yellow peachy ones are really pretty. I have never seen any colors other than orange or white, until now :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Danice! The tiger lilies sound gorgeous -- and they grow wild? How wonderful! Our peachy lily is actually quite short, probably about 18". Though I suppose that could be partly due to its poor placement!

So pretty! I wonder if it's a 'Barbara Mitchell'?
ReplyDeleteThat does look quite similar! Perhaps the lily mystery has been solved. :-)
